Juliette supported the Fourth High-Level Meeting of the UN General Assembly on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases and the promotion of mental health and well-being as part of the core WHO team, providing technical and policy support throughout the High-Level Meeting process — from early evidence review and expert consultation to zero drafts and collation of Member State inputs, from the September High-Level Meeting in New York and its myriad side events to the December adoption at the UN General Assembly. Through persistence and good-faith efforts to bridge differences, Member States negotiated a strong consensus on a game-changing set of targets and commitments for one of the defining health challenges of the 21st century. The Declaration’s focuses include preventing conflicts of interest and addressing commercial factors across health-harming products, food and digital environments, and pollution.
