PAHO/WHO Representatives Executive Programme — Tobacco Control: a successful story in addressing commercial drivers of health
The WHO Representatives (WR) Executive Tobacco Control Programme was designed to address the broad and evolving challenges faced by WHO and PAHO representatives in their respective countries while centring on tobacco control and commercial determinants of health. The programme brought together WRs from ten countries to develop competencies and skills needed for public health in 2024, using tobacco control as the entry point. It did this by bringing in leading internal and external experts and fostering an environment where participants could share experiences, learn from one another, and develop strategies to overcome obstacles in tobacco control and related commercially driven risk factors. Juliette was involved in session design and, in person, helped facilitate and presented on the commercial determinants of health.
